This is salmon fishing at its finest. These trips are based on when the salmon begin to run and are subject to Department of Fisheries and Oceans opening and closing dates.  Experience some of Vancouver Island's best salmon fishing where it is common place to have more than one salmon on at a time. Sockeye salmon fishing trips in the protected waters of Port Alberni Inlet start around June. Fishing for chinook, pink, coho, sockeye, or chum salmon north of Campbell River starts in late August and runs into the end of October.  Included is return transportation from Nanaimo.  You will need to bring lunch and warm clothing.  

 

Pickup at Brechin Boat Launch or at B-Dock in the Nanaimo harbour,  either at sun up or 2 hours prior to a tide change (contact us regarding tides).  On the way out we will drop a crab trap and then we are off to the fishing grounds, which are near by.  You can either fish for salmon or bottom fish.  On the way in, we will check the crab trap to see if we can add to your catch of the day.   Drop off is back at Brechin boat launch or B dock. If you prefer, you can be dropped off at any other public dock in Nanaimo Harbour or visit Nanaimo's famous Dinghy Dock Pub.

Please note- you will need to make arrangements to get back to your vehicle if you are not dropped off where you boarded.

 

You require a tidal waters Recreational Fishing Licence, with the Salmon Stamp, BEFORE you arrive at the boat. They are available at the local sporting goods stores or online.
